Internships

The Journey 2010 Executive Fellowship is for students interested in youth work and leadership.
Applications are due Nov. 20

We are currently accepting nominations for leaders in the field of youth work to join a select group of influential professionals as a member of the 2010 class of The Executive Journey Fellowship – a program aimed at renewing leaders and transforming the field of youth work in Indiana.

Fellows attend four all-expense-paid retreats throughout the year focused on personal and professional leadership and renewal, benefit from executive coaching, have the opportunity to connect with national leaders in the youth development field, receive individual stipends to fund their own professional development and engage with colleagues to transform their own organizations and communities.

The Direct Action & Research Training (DART) Organizers Institute
Application deadline is December 15, 2009
Applicants must be alums or spring '10 graduating IU students

The DART Organizers Institute starts July 18, 2010 and combines a 7-day
classroom with 15-week field training. Organizer Trainees will learn
such things as:

· Entering a community
· Identifying and training local leaders
· Strategic planning and issue cutting
· Relationship and community building
· Direct Action on community issues
· Fundraising

This is a paid training program designed to promote successful
graduates into permanent salaried positions making up to $35,000/year
in starting salaries, plus benefits. Graduates from the DART Organizers
Institute have gone onto accept Executive Director and Associate
Community Organizing positions throughout the country.

Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service Summer Internship Program
Georgetown University, Washington, DC

Applications due by March 5, 2010.
Early applications submitted by December 4 will receive a 5% tuition discount as well as 
priority scholarship consideration and internship placement.

Sponsored by The Fund for American Studies in partnership with  Georgetown University,
the Institute is a summer academic internship  program held in Washington, D.C. for
undergraduate students  interested in volunteerism and careers in the nonprofit sector.

The Institute combines substantive professional experience for 30  hours a week with a
challenging academic experience. This fast-paced,  eight-week residential program
provides students from around the  world with the opportunities to gain an edge in
today's competitive  job market and graduate school admissions, and experience the 
excitement of Washington first-hand.

Internships: Competitive placements with leading nonprofit  organizations
Classes: Up to 9 transferable credits in ethics and philanthropy  from Georgetown University

Indiana Department of State Summer Fellowship Program
Applications for the summer of 2010 are accepted through March 5.

The summer fellowship program is a three month internship with the Indiana Secretary of State's office in Indianapolis. Fellows will work on special projects and will be assigned duties essential to the daily operations of the office. Fellows will rotate through each Division of the Secretary of State's office.
