How to Apply
To be accepted into the program, you must meet the following requirements:
- An overall GPA of 2.700 or above, with permission given to allow PACE to access your academic record for review.
- Two PACE courses or electives must have been taken or be in progress at the time of application, one of which must be C210 or C211.
- An application essay of no more than 500 words explaining your interest in the program, including reflections on past political and civic engagement experiences and aspirations for future ones.
- Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be a letter from an instructor who has supervised some of your academic work.
- An interview with a PACE faculty or staff member, if selected to do so.
Because of the sequential nature of the Certificate requirements and fitting those into your curriculum, we encourage you to apply to PACE in the second semester of your freshman year or by the end of your sophomore year. That will allow you to plan to complete the core courses and electives before the internship, and all of these before the capstone course. Exceptions to this sequence will be considered based on examination of individual circumstances.
