2026 Election Guide

Your guide to local elections

Participation in local elections is crucial to a vibrant democracy! This year, Monroe County residents will be able to vote for the offices of judge, county councilor (three at-large), county commissioner, auditor, coroner, surveyor, and treasurer.

Below you will find links to candidate profiles, voting information, candidate forums, and other information related to the general election on November 3, 2026. To vote in the local election, you have to be a registered voter in Monroe County. To update your voter registration information, visit IU Turbovote. The last day to register to vote for the primary election is April 6. Early Voting for the primary election begins on April 7.

April 13-17 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
April 20-24 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
April 25 9:00-4:00 p.m.
April 27-May 1 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
May 2 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
May 4 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

When and where do I vote?

You can vote early in Monroe County at the Election Operations Site at the Showers Building in Bloomington, 401 N Morton St. Early voting for the primary election starts on April 7. You can vote in person on Primary Election Day, May 5. Indiana University Students living in Bloomington precincts 5, 18, 19, and 23 can vote at Indiana Memorial Union at 900 E 7^th St. You can confirm your voter registration address and polling place using IU Turbovote.
