Full Biography

Carl Weinberg is a semi-professional clarinet player. For his day gig, he teaches (in PACE, the Department of History, and LAMP) and writes about American history and politics (for more detail, see his CV).

In PACE, Carl teaches Leadership and Public Policy (PACE-C 250),  Leadership, Social Movements, and Modern American Politics (PACE-C 350), and Introduction to Theories of Leadership (PACE-C 100). He is the author of Red Dynamite: Creationism, Culture Wars, and Anticommunism in America, published by Cornell University Press.

His leadership and political experience includes a three-year stint as president of the board of directors of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra; attendance at many rallies in support of abortion rights and against police brutality; and a run for governor of Connecticut on the Socialist Workers Party ticket.
