Students from many different academic backgrounds and majors—from journalism to biology—choose to earn a PACE certificate. The certificate can be combined with any major offered by the College of Arts and Sciences, or with undergraduate degree programs in many other schools at IU Bloomington.
As a PACE student, you’ll develop skills in leadership, communication, public engagement, and democratic practices—all while shaping the program according to your own interests.

When you enter the PACE program, you’ll join a welcoming and thoughtful community that, for many PACE students, becomes one of the most meaningful parts of their experience at IU.
You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to connect with the larger Bloomington community, whether through your PACE internship or as part of the Voices for Democracy project.
