Students earning the PACE certificate are required to take a minimum of 22 credit hours as a combination of PACE courses and electives.

Sequence of courses
The process of earning the PACE certificate happens in three stages.
Stage one: Beginning
6 credits—taken before or when applying to the program
PACE-C 250 Leadership and Public Policy
ASCS-Q 295 Design Your Life and Career or ASCS-Q 296 College to Career II
- SPEA majors may substitute V 252
- Students enrolling in IU POLS DC can substitute POLS X-299
- COLL substitutions possible (consult with PACE)
PACE-C 200 Issue Forum/C 440 Forum Discussion Leader
- PACE students are encouraged to participate as moderators at least once by enrolling in C 440.
Stage two: Middle
13 credits—internship and electives after admission to the program
PACE-X 473 Internship (up to 6 credit hours)
- Consult with PACE to arrange your internship and credit.
Electives (12 credit hours)
- No more than two courses from one department, and at least two at the 300/400 level
- Courses taken before admission to the program will count.
Stage three: Senior Completion
3 credits—after completing all of the requirements above
