Each spring, outstanding students in the PACE program are chosen to receive Hutton PACE Scholar awards.
There are three award categories—Hutton PACE Graduating Scholar, Hutton PACE Internship Scholar, and Hutton PACE Program Scholar.
Awards
Award categories
Hutton PACE Graduating Scholar
This award is given to a graduating student who has demonstrated strong academic and community engagement through the PACE program.
Students graduating in May, August, or December of the current year are eligible for nomination.
Hutton PACE Internship Scholar
This award is given to a student based on the quality of engagement demonstrated by his or her final internship reflection paper during the previous year.
Students who have completed internships during the past year are eligible for nomination.
Hutton PACE Program Scholar
This award is given to the student who has made the most significant contribution to the certificate program during the year.
Students are eligible for nomination at any time during their undergraduate career.
How does the nomination process work?
Faculty who teach required PACE courses may nominate eligible students for the awards.
Each award has its own eligibility criteria (listed in the award descriptions above). In addition, students must have taken 5 credit hours of required PACE courses, and applied and been accepted to the PACE program.
How are the awards announced?
Student awards will be posted through the Office of the Bursar in April. Recipients of the Hutton PACE Scholar award will be recognized at the PACE graduation reception in May.
The number of awards given each year will be at the discretion of the program.
