In the Political and Civic Engagement (PACE) program, you’ll develop expertise in leadership, communication, effective citizenship, and public decision making. You’ll also have unique opportunities to apply your knowledge and skills through a mentored internship and community engagement projects. We offer both a certificate in Political And Civic Engagement and a minor in Leaders & Leadership.

The interdisciplinary, 22 credit hour PACE certificate can be combined with any major offered by the College of Arts and Sciences, or with undergraduate degree programs in many other schools at IU Bloomington—allowing you to tailor the program to your individual interests.
The 16 credit hour PACE minor in Leaders & Leadership offers students hands-on experiential learning informed by an understanding of the history and theories of effective leadership. This minor strengthens valuable professional skills such as communication, sensitivity to ethical issues, critical thinking and reasoning.
