Mark Fraley

Associate Director

Full Biography

Mark joined PACE as Associate Director in 2019, bringing a background in community organizing, political campaigning, legislative relations, and nonprofit management. He holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a second in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology (PNP) from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington's Evans School of Policy and Governance.

At PACE, Mark designs and teaches programming centered on civic dialogue, viewpoint diversity, and democratic engagement. His approach draws on the structured methodology of public deliberation and a longstanding contemplative practice. He brings these traditions together in service of cross-ideological understanding. He is the founding co-chair of IU's Heterodox Academy campus community and co-chairs the IU Votes initiative.

Outside of work, he can be found cooking vegetarian meals with his wife Sara, serenading his cats, and watching scary movies.
